The Benchmark The Method The Labs Offers FAQ The Mission Begin My Ten Steps

You've Built a Career on Your Craft.
Don't Let AI Make You Invisible.

AI for Rookies is ten steps to get started in one hour: the confidence to use AI as your assistant, without becoming a programmer. You are still the creator. AI is your assistant.

Forty years at the top of the art world

I spent four decades as a global art agent.

I spent four decades as a global art agent, working at the highest level the art world offers. I represented, curated, and promoted work by Joan Miró, Henry Moore, Alexander Calder, Louise Nevelson, Duane Hanson, and my lifelong friend, Gordon Parks.

I built collections for Chase Manhattan Bank, Citicorp, and Prudential. I recommended exhibitions to institutions including the Smithsonian. My galleries and exhibitions have been covered in THE Magazine, Pasatiempo, and Journal North.

Along the way, I founded FATE, Fine Art Traveling Exhibitions, ran my own gallery in Santa Fe, and self-published fifteen books.

I am not a certified AI coach. I am the person these artists trusted with their legacy. Art is simply where I proved the method first.

The Visualizer's Dilemma

Your Work Is Brilliant. Why Is It Still Sitting in Your Studio?

You know the feeling. A blank screen at midnight. A tutorial full of words that were never meant for a creative mind. The quiet dread that the world is moving on without you.

I have sat across from hundreds of visionaries with exactly this fear. It is never a lack of talent. It is never a lack of ideas. It is a lack of confidence.

When I stepped back from agenting full time, the calls didn't stop. People I'd worked with for decades still wanted me representing them. That's where this began: I realized I could teach them to do for themselves what I used to do for them.

Here is the truth I learned agenting: great work sitting in a studio that no one sees serves no one. By my own count, more than half the collections I watched over four decades ended up in storage, or worse, the dump, because no one built a system to share them while there was still time.

People do not need more technology. They need more confidence. That is what AI for Rookies gives you first.

I did not learn that lesson in a workshop. I learned it seventeen years ago, in a hospital bed, and I will tell you that story before we are through. For now, know this: confidence is not something you are born with. I have watched people build it in real time. I built mine the same way.

The Gordon Parks Legacy

The lesson behind everything I teach

What Twenty-Three Years and Seven Hundred Thousand Dollars Taught Me

For thirty-three years, Gordon Parks was my friend. I built his first traveling exhibition, two hundred photographs that toured and sold out to museums for twenty-three years straight. He never finished high school. He became the first African American photographer to document the Civil Rights Movement for Life magazine, and the first Black director Hollywood ever commissioned, for The Learning Tree and then Shaft.

But Gordon had a second life the world refused to see. In his final thirty years, once he finally had the means to stop shooting on the street, he made fine art. Paintings. Drawings. A body of work he considered his truest voice.

When his retrospective catalog, Half Past Autumn, came out, it ran three hundred sixty pages. His fine art got twelve of them.

I spent twenty-three years and seven hundred thousand dollars of my own money trying to change that. Contracts. Gallery meetings. Museum pitches, one slow negotiation at a time. Gordon passed at ninety-three, in the middle of our launch, still believing the world had never fully accepted him as an artist.

I could not move fast enough back then. Every step was manual, and manual takes decades.

If I had the tools I have now, his voice would have reached millions while he was still here to see it.

That is the lesson behind everything I teach. Speed is not vanity. Speed is how a life's work gets seen in a life.

The Agent's Architecture

Your Automated Agent Team

For forty years, my job had four parts. I used to do all four by hand: hundreds of calls, plane tickets, contracts drafted at midnight. AI for Rookies teaches you to agent for yourself. The same four jobs, automated.

Package

Package the work so it stands out.

Connect

Connect it to the people already looking for it, across languages and borders.

Set Up the Money

Set up the money so it flows without you chasing invoices.

Build Community

Build a community around it, so the energy compounds instead of fading.

Not a marketing agency. Not a technical platform. Call it a gallery assistant, an ops team, a chief of staff, whatever your world calls the person who handles everything so you don't have to. The four jobs don't change. It works in the background while you stay focused on the one thing no software can do: create.

That is your automated agent team, built to make sure your work is never invisible again. Here is exactly how it works.

The C.R.E.A.T.E. Framework

Six steps, condensed into an order anyone can follow. No coding. No jargon you have to decode alone, because I already decoded it for you.

The Gallery Floor Test

Here's How I Decide Who This Is Really For

For years, I curated the openings I was proudest of in a black t-shirt and blue jeans, sweeping the floor before the doors opened. Nobody in the room knew I was the curator. That was the point. The work was never about me.

That's still the test I use, and it was never about résumés or how confident you already felt walking in the door. It comes down to one thing: whether you're willing to do the quiet, unglamorous work before anyone is watching, because the work itself is the only thing that ever actually gets you seen. This isn't about the confidence you already have. It's about whether you're willing to start without it.

If you're still waiting for permission, a mentor, a committee, the right moment, this isn't your studio yet. If you're ready to start sweeping your own floor today, whether or not you've done it before, AI for Rookies is built for you.

There are those who talk the talk, and those who walk the walk. I only work with the second.

At my own openings, I was the best kept secret in the room while the artists got the recognition. Not anymore. This is me stepping out from behind the gallery wall, and it's your invitation to do the same, whatever you're building.

FAQ

What Actually Holds When Everything Else Falls Apart

“I’m a creator, not a tech person. Can I really do this?”

I wasn’t a tech person either. I hired five teachers and gave myself fourteen-hour days over one Christmas break to learn this the hard way, so you don’t have to. Confidence over coding. No programming required, ever.

“What about protecting my rights and my work?”

When Gordon Parks died in the middle of our launch, the one thing that held was a simple, one-page contract I’d written years earlier, the kind that survives an estate. I call it my Cover Your Ass contract. It’s yours too, built into the Playbook.

“Should I wait until AI settles down?”

I didn’t wait for it to settle. I gave myself four weeks and started anyway, and it still hasn’t settled. The best time to start was yesterday. The next best time is today.

The Miracle Scans

Waking up to a miracle

I told you I would come back to this.

Seventeen years ago, I was semiconscious in intensive care for ten days. In that place between here and gone, I made a promise. I asked to come back and finish what I started, but only if I was granted complete healing.

I woke up. The scans were perfect. My doctors had no explanation. I did not need one.

That was my first defining moment. My second came more recently, and quietly, one loss at a time. Thirteen people in my inner circle died within a few years of each other, including both of my parents and the mentors who shaped my entire career.

I stopped and asked myself a hard question: what do I still want to build, and who am I still meant to help, before my own time runs out?

The answer became my Ten Legacy Projects. AI for Rookies is the first one I am giving away, because it is the fastest way to help the most people help themselves.

Read more Read less

Every person who comes onto this planet has something to bring. Every person has a piece of the puzzle to share. Our greatest loss is when those pieces are lost. Left in a drawer. Boxed up in storage. Never finished, never shared, never seen.

I did not want that for myself. I do not want it for you. This is why I am here. And it's why AI for Rookies is the first step of the ten, not the tenth: your work deserves to be seen while you're still here to see it too.

Waking up to a miracle — light returned

I am spending my last quarter of life on one mission: guiding one million creators onto the fast track I never had.

You are still the creator. AI is your assistant.

Everything you have built, and everything you have yet to build, is still yours to finish.

— Marcia McCoy
